Spring Onion 'Purplette' produces stunning glossy purple skinned onions. The tasty onions are early bulbing and can be harvested throughout the summer and into the autumn. The colourful onions change from purple to a pastel pink when pickled or cooked. Sow seed thinly direct outside or in containers, 13mm (0.5in) deep. No thinning should be necessary. Ideal for sowing thinly in containers or window boxes. Keep well watered during dry weather.
