Produce shaped hedges that would make even a professional grower envious with these semi-evergreen Privet hedges.
Dense and neat foliage is formed as dark green oval-shaped leaves grow in abundance on this deciduous and semi-evergreen hedge. Leaves can fall when the winter weather turns particularly cold but should hold firm until new growth is ready to erupt in spring.
Dainty, creamy-white flowers emerge in pointed clusters throughout June, July and August, followed by black berries when autumn rolls around.
What’s more, this variety has been recommended by the RHS as a ‘Plant for Pollinators’, thanks to the pollen-rich flowers that are perfect for attracting bees, butterflies, and other insects.
Privet hedging makes a great addition to gardens, even in urban or built-up areas, owing to a top-notch resistance to pollution, while it is also hardy to conditions as cold as -10C to -5C.
For best impact, be sure to plant Privet hedging in a sunny or semi-sheltered area in more-or-less any soil type, with even windy conditions tolerated. This fast-growing variety can increase in height by 30-60cm every year.
