Discover the timeless symbol of remembrance with Suttons' Flanders Poppy seeds! With every purchase, Suttons pledges to donate 20p to SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity. The Flanders Poppy stands as an enduring emblem of remembrance, its beauty captivating bees and other pollinators alike. These poppies boast ease of cultivation, thriving when sown directly outdoors. Perfect for borders or pots, they bloom from June to August, reaching heights of 30-60cm (1-2'). Classified as HA/HP - Hardy annual/Hardy perennial. Not only do these poppies attract bees and beneficial insects, but they also offer culinary possibilities. Try sprinkling poppy seeds on bread, cakes, and biscuits for an added touch of flavor and texture. Growing Information: Sow directly outdoors from March to May for effortless cultivation. Sowing Information: Sow seeds thinly, burying them 3mm (¼") deep into finely raked, moist, and warm soil devoid of weeds. Germination typically occurs within 10-14 days. Gradually thin seedlings as they grow, spacing them 15cm (6") apart to prevent overcrowding and removing any competing weeds. Regularly deadhead spent flowers. Poppies thrive in most garden soils, provided they're situated in a sunny location.
