Throughout the summer months the stunning sky blue flowers will open first thing in the morning. This free flowering climber is perfect for patios and ground cover, but can also be grown in a greenhouse or conservatory. Thrives in a sunny, sheltered, warm site.Soak seeds overnight in cold water and/or file a tiny notch in the seed coat before sowing. Germinate at 20-30C (68-86F) individually in pots on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a layer of compost or vermiculite, 6mm (0.25in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-17 days.Transplant seedlings into 13cm (5in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions for at least 14 days before planting out in late spring after all risk of frost. Plant out 30cm (12in) apart.FOR POT PLANTS: Transplant in a soil-based compost to 20cm (8in) pots and grow in a cool, well ventilated position with shade from direct sun.
