Hollies are dioecious plants, meaning they bear separate male and female flowers. To yield berries, both male and female plants are necessary for pollination. Female plants produce berries only when fertilized by pollen from a male plant. Thus, having two distinct plants is essential to produce berries.
Important: Ensure female holly shrubs are within 200 yards (183m) of a male holly shrub for effective pollination.
Note: Illustrative hessian wrap and ribbon are not included.
