The glossy red berries of this blue Holly are a delightful indication that Christmas is on the way! This striking evergreen is offered as a standard tree, making it the perfect container plant to frame your front door.
As a female variety, Ilex x meserveae ‘Blue Maid’ produces tiny white flowers in spring, which, if pollinated by a male variety, will lead to an abundance of holly berries in the years to come. Once established, the vibrant scarlet berries create a stunning contrast with its glossy purple-green foliage. Unlike many hollies, the leaves are not particularly spiky, ensuring your visitors won’t get pricked as they pass by.
This low-maintenance evergreen is ideal for patio containers or planting directly in borders, adding year-round structure and color to your garden. Supplied as a 2-year-old plant in a pot, it has an average height of 75cm (30") and a 30cm (12") wide head of foliage.
Ultimate height: 1.5m (5’). Ultimate spread: 60cm (24")
Please note: The decorative pot shown is for illustration purposes only; the plant is supplied wrapped in jute for a festive, 'ready-to-plant' presentation.
