Much loved by bees and other pollinators for an early supply of nectar, a dark plum coloured centre surrounds a centre of yellow stamen. Boasting tidy clumps of the trademark leathery, dark green foliage which is evergreen and creates a stunning backdrop to the fabulous blooms.Commonly known as the Lenten Rose, and a member of the buttercup family, Helleborus orientalis are native to Greece and Turkey.Preferring to be grown in moist, well-draining soil in a shady position, Helleborus orientalis 'Sugar Plum' will reach a height and spread of 30-45cm.
