This hardy Hellebore is perfect for bridging the gap between winter and spring. Helleborus Orientalis ‘Hello Amber’ produces deep green foliage which surrounds pretty, heavily freckled pink blooms that emerge from January to April. Its excellent texture and vibrant colour makes it perfect for adding a splash of joy to your borders, or creating an impressive container display. One of the first to flower and attractive to pollinators, it’s also ideal for those hoping to entice the first wave of bees into the garden for spring. Pot up hellebore plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant hellebores in neutral or alkaline soil, in dappled shade. Hellebores prefer a moist, humus rich, fertile soil that does not dry out in summer or sit waterlogged in winter. When growing hellebores on heavy clay or free draining gravel soils, add plenty of well rotted leaf mould or other organic matter to the soil prior to planting.
