Gooseberry 'Invicta' is one of the heaviest cropping varieties available, producing almost twice as much fruit as varieties. Ready to harvest from late May onwards , the flavour-packed, smooth skinned fruits stay firm and retain their shape when cooked, making this variety a great choice for pies and preserves. This vigorous variety also has excellent mildew resistance and holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit for its garden performance. Plant gooseberry bushes in an open sunny position on well-drained soil. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 16-20 months. Estimated time to best yields: 30-44 months. Height and spread: 120cm. Supplied as bareroot plants and ready pruned, which will quickly establish once planted.
