Before planting, mix in plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole. Space the raspberry canes 60 cm (24 inches) apart in rows. Firm the soil around the plants and water them well. Prune the canes to 30 cm (12 inches) right after planting to encourage the growth of more shoots.
