Description:
Opal Plums are early cropping plum trees and in a good year you can look forward to the first fruit being ready at the end of July. Because they are so early, Opal plums mature quite fast. They are self-fertile.Opal Plum is quite happy to bear a heavy crop all by itself. It is also reassuringly regular in the size of harvest each year.
As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby from mid July on wards. This is not a disease, but is mainly due to this years contrasting weather conditions and will not affect the performance of the tree.
Pollination:
It is self-fertile and will produce fruit by itself.
