CURRANT TRIO - This unique Ribes Berry Trio combines three self pollinating, high yielding currant plants growing in one 5L pot, allowing you to pick redcurrants, blackcurrants and white currants all at one go. These hardy fruit bushes have an upright growing habit, growing to a height and spread of 120cm. GROWING CONDITIONS - Currants are best grown in well draining rich moist draining soil in a position that receives full sunlight but can tolerate slight partial shade. They need to be sheltered from cold winds and late Spring frosts as this can lead to damaged flowers and can cut down on the yield of fruit that is produced the following year. PATIO GROWING - Our currant trio is ideal for growing in a smaller garden in a large container on a patio or in a border. It is also ideal for growing in a fruit/vegetable garden or allotment. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure into the ground or patio pot. Keep currant plants well watered during dry periods, particularly as the fruits are developing. Netting the bushes will help to protect the currants from birds. SUMMER FRUITS - This delicious mix of redcurrants, blackcurrants and white currants is ready for picking during the Summer months of July and August. This mix of sweet and sour is perfect for eating fresh or for using in cooking and baking. They can also be used to create jams, jellies, juices, wines and liquors.
