This greenhouse cucumber variety, known for its all-female flowers, promises abundant yields when harvested regularly. Cucumber 'Mini Munch' offers the perfect snack for lunchboxes when picked at just 7cm (3") in length, or you can slice larger fruits for salads according to your preference. With its crisp texture and delightful flavour, this RHS AGM-certified variety is best enjoyed straight from the plant. Expect a height of 3m (9') and a spread of 45cm (18"). To thrive, greenhouse cucumbers require warm, humid conditions with a minimum temperature of 15°C (60°F). Alternatively, outdoor (ridge) types are suitable for growing outside, with some varieties adaptable to both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Supplied as 1 x packet of 4 seeds.
Sowing Instructions: For indoor cropping, sow cucumber seeds from early March to April, or direct sow outdoor varieties from May to June. Plant cucumber seeds on their sides at a depth of 1cm (1/2") in 7.5cm (3") pots filled with free-draining, seed sowing compost. Place them in a propagator or seal the container inside a plastic bag, maintaining a temperature of 20°C (68°F) until germination, which typically takes 7-10 days. Shield the emerging seedlings from direct sunlight to prevent scorching. Once the cucumber plants are sufficiently grown, transplant them, spacing 2 plants per growbag or 45cm (18") apart in a warm, humid greenhouse.
For outdoor varieties, gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before transplanting into warm, well-drained, humus-rich soil in full sun, ensuring shelter from winds. Plant outdoor cucumbers in single rows, spacing them 90cm (36") apart. Water generously after planting until the cucumber plants are fully established.
