In late spring and early summer, the bottlebrush-like blooms of the Callistemon Honeypot will almost come alive with visiting bees and other pollinators. The bright blooms adorn the evergreen foliage, ensuring these Australian natives are easily recognisable. ‘Honeypot’ – almost glowing, buttery yellow blooms, height and spread 1.5m. Callistemon have small, narrow, pointed, evergreen foliage, and blooms from mid to late spring. Grow in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded position. Half-hardy, medium sized shrubs, able to withstand temperatures of down to -5°C if located in a sheltered spot. For best results, grow at the foot of a sunny wall, or in a container, so it can be brought indoors to a cool greenhouse or conservatory in colder weather.
