Berberis thunbergii Atropurpurea is commonly known as 'Purple Barberry' and is an extremely popular hedge that displays vibrant deep purple foliage in spring along with red/yellow flowers. In autumn the leaves change from deep purple to a fiery red before falling off as this is a deciduous shrub. You also get rich red fruits in winter as this hedge is a great feeding source for all birds and wildlife.
