It blooms masses of bright red to orange toned funnel shaped flowers in late Spring. GROWING - Azalea Hot Shot is an easy to care for outdoor plant that can grow to a height of between 60-75 cm with an eventual spread of 100 cm. This hardy low growing shrub requires a location in semi to dappled shade, sheltered from cold drying winds. It is ideal for growing in a pot or container or for filling gaps in garden borders in moist well draining acid soil. If the soil conditions are more alkaline, mixing in some ericaceous compost will help increase the acidic levels in the soil. ONGOING CARE - The soil around this plant should remain moist but not waterlogged to prevent root rot. Unlike some other plants, this Azalea does not require frequent pruning. To enhance its bushy form remove any unsightly shoots and regularly deadhead faded flowers to help encourage new growth.
