Apple 'Lord Lambourne' holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit for its garden performance. Introduced in 1907, this old favourite holds its own against newer varieties. Well regarded for its reliability, each hardy tree produces uniform, orange-green fruits streaked with red that are scab resistant. These dessert apples are sweet and aromatic with a hint of strawberry, with crisp, juicy flesh. Harvest in mid-September and store until November. A pollination group 2 eating apple, this variety is partially self-fertile. For the heaviest crops, it is best grown with another variety. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years. Supplied as a bare root tree on M26 dwarfing rootstock, reaching a mature height of 2.5-3m.
