YEAR ROUND INTEREST - The Arbutus unedo Rubra is a large bushy evergreen shrub/tree with dark green leathery looking ovate leaves. It produces clusters of rosy-pink lantern shaped flowers in Autumn, while the previous years flowers turn into red strawberry like fruit. GROWING CONDITIONS - This plant is best grown in rich, well-draining soil in full sunlight but needs to be sheltered from cold winds. It can be grown in West or South facing areas of the garden. LOW MAINTENANCE - The Arbutus unedo Rubra is perfect for a variety of gardens including coastal gardens and sheltered woodland areas due to it being very low maintenance.
