PURPLE HEART - The Tradescantia Pallida Purpurea Plant, commonly known as Purple Heart or Purple Queen is a real trailing evergreen perennial indoor plant that has striking deep purple narrow, pointed foliage making it a popular choice with any houseplant lover including beginners. This live, hardy, easy to care, resilient plant adds elegance and colour to any indoor space. It comes in a 12cm pot, it is a fast growing plant and as it matures it's stems and leaves will have a trailing growth which will make it perfect to then put in a hanging basket or trail on a windowsill. SUNLIGHT - The Purple Heart grows best in bright, indirect light, so a north or east-facing window is best. The brighter the light, the stronger the leaf colouring will be. This exotic tropical jungle-like plant can be displayed in a hanging planter or on a shelf allowing its leaves to trail downward over time. WATERING - Water your plant when the top inch or so of the soil is dry, and take care not to let it completely dry out. Tradescantia can be prone to root rot, so allow the soil to dry out between waterings and ensure the plant is not left sitting in water. During the Winter months, cut back on how much water the plant receives. HUMIDITY LOVING - As Tradescantia thrive in a humid warm environment, it is a great plant to keep on bathroom window sills, since the humidity from your shower or bath will keep the air moist.
